Spring Peak Followed by High Yields in Summer/Autumn

Whereas most early varieties are exhausted after the first couple of cuts in the spring; IKAROS has a good performance after the spring peak with nice yields in the summer and autumn. Ideal choice for mixtures primarily aimed for grazing, but of course its earliness allows excellent conservation results too, with good lodging tolerance to prevent contamination by soil.

Survives Winter

Despite growth extended late in autumn IKAROS is amongst the best in terms of winter hardiness and resistance to cold after growth has started again in the spring.

Persistent

Early varieties are exposed to many factors often leading to poor persistency, but IKAROS has proven a persistency at the level of intermediate diploids.
