Density Far Above Average
Calliope is a top variety of chewings fescue (FRC). Shoot density is extremely high, especially under close mowing. This makes Calliope perfect for golf greens and all other places, where grass is cut low.
Nicest Dark Green Colour in Summer
Red fescue in general has a lower need of water during summer time compared to i.e. perennial ryegrass. Calliope has proven to keep the nicest dark greeen summer colour in the STRI trials in UK and thus shown the strenght also in this respectless water but retained nice colour.
High Standards in Finland
In Finnish trials Calliope forms an exceptionally dense lawn with very fine, dark green leaves. Calliope was tested in Finland from 1996 to 1998, and again from 2001 to 2004. Calliope has an overall very good ground cover, a good winterhardiness, and a very good persistancy under Finnish conditions.
