PONDEROSA is selected for dark green colour combined with density. This combination is among the exisiting darker green varieties on the market. As the graph below shows, PONDEROSA has proven to totally outcompete the older sports varieties in density in the STRI trials. Actually PONDEROSA is no. 1 on the STRI list in terms of density.

Very High Wear Tolerance

The outstanding shoot density makes PONDEROSA extremely tolerant to high wear keeping a very high live ground cover.

These two characters is also highly appreciated in normal gardens where PONDEROSA is a fantastic choice for a perfect lawn which tolerates wear and tear.

Fast Establishment

In all aspects a fast establishment is wanted. Perennial ryegrass has the fastest establishment among turf species and PONDEROSA is better than most other varieties.

Dark Green Colour

Especially in southern Europe a more dark green colour is wanted. PONDEROSA is specially selected for the dark green colour to fit these needs.
